Art

Our Grade 5 Art students have been exploring art elements using different techniques: Our first is from 3D shapes shown through collage. We will continue with various types of paper sculpture as well as helping the school with graphic designs for festival and subject days.

Music

Our Grades 5 and 6 Music students have been studying the note values, timings and pitches. As well as this, we look at sheet music together and find the scale or set of notes that goes with each song.

HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION

This term primary students are finishing their last two weeks of AFL clinics with professional coaches. This week they will be revising their handball and kicking technique and then working on marking the ball and kicking to a target. Once AFL is finished, students will be moving on to Soccer, where, they will be having coaches from Melbourne Victory come out and work with their PE teachers, I know they are very excited about this opportunity.

We have some exciting competitions coming up for interschool sports;

• AFL Victoria Western Region Primary Schools Challenge, which will have two boys and two girls teams comprising of Grades 5 & 6 students on the 10th August.
• Sunshine District Athletics Carnival, which will have students from Grades 3-6 competing on 22nd August.
